Statehouse Exhibit and Celebration
The Youth Art Month student art exhibit is held in the Indiana State House each March. Teachers from across the state are invited to share the artistic accomplishments of their students. A reception will be held for students, parents and teachers. All artwork for this year's show must be registered online by February 8th.
Due to the overwhelming amount of participation last year, please follow the exhibition guidelines in order to accommodate all artwork, please read below.
Artwork can then be either hand delivered to the Statehouse the day of the reception, between the hours of 10:00 am -11:30 am on February 26th, or sent by mail no later than February 8, 2017.
Student Art Exhibition
February 26 - March 25, 2017
Sunday, February 26, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
Teacher Artwork Drop Off: 10:30 am- 11:30 am (EST).
Statehouse parking lot opens at 1:30PM. Parking is located in the North lot off Ohio street (see map in resources)
Submission Deadline: February 8th, 2017
All participants must register online. Click here to register.
Eligibility: Open to all students of AEAI members in grades K-12
Membership: Participating art educators must be members of AEAI to participate. Join or renew on-line at AEAI.org
Submissions: Please limit submission to five (5) works per school, per teacher. Works must be two-dimensional and the mat or mounting size should not exceed 3".
Registration: Teachers must register each piece of artwork that will be submitted to the show by Feb 8, 2017.
Presentation: Mat or mount work on lightweight mat or bristol board. Do not use colored paper, foam core, canvas stretchers, or frames. Mat cannot exceed 3".
Labels for artwork: The official YAM label is required on each piece of artwork. Artwork without the official label will not be displayed. Labels can be downloaded here. Please attach the student portion of the label (printed on white paper) to front lower right corner of each mat and the other label securely attached to the back. Don’t cover the artwork with the label.

Shipping: Ship in a strong, clean, reusable box in which art work is secure and can easily be removed for review and return. Print School District/City name on the bottom left corner of the carton and the number of art works included in the box. **Include in the box a return address label typed, and return postage. Return postage must be enclosed in a secure envelope along with a typed list of student artwork.
